Geochelone elegans egg laying occurred at night, complete darkness (approx. 2AM) in May 2013. Two eggs were observed and were taken for incubation.
Immediately after laying the eggs the female went to drink water.
May 2013 was successful in our facility in both G. elegans and Testudo species.
The young Star tortoises are developing fast and are monitored on a daily basis by their individual markings.
