Our scope of global collaborations

The International Center for Tortoise Conservation collaborates with different institutions that aim to conserve and save tortoises worldwide.

Since we aim in the far future to reintroduce tortoises to their native habitat, collaboration can be classified into different fields, among which are behavioral problems in nature and in the conservation centers, asking and answering ethical questions in regard to the nature of release back to nature, education of the native population for conservation and more.

At the field of education, we see a major importance to develop a series of lectures and courses to local people that can make the difference and contribute to tortoise conservation.

Personally, I was evident to the disappearance of the Testudo graeca from the area where my conservation center is located, especially due to construction, fences between private properties and roads, in addition to the negative effect of crows and feral cats in the predation of young tortoises.

Some of the collaborations are presented in this section.
